Rural Economic Outlook Conference set for Oct. 16

 STILLWATER – The 2024 Rural Economic Outlook Conference will be held Oct. 16 in the Click Family Alumni Hall at the ConocoPhillips Oklahoma State University Alumni Center.

The conference will provide producers, lenders and policymakers with insight into the rural agricultural economy. It will feature OSU faculty and keynote speakers from outside of Oklahoma.

Kenny Burdine, Extension Professor in Livestock Economics at the University of Kentucky, is one such speaker, providing an update on Livestock Risk Protection Insurance for feeder cattle. Another keynote speaker, Randy Daniel, Chief Risk Officer at Triangle Insurance, will discuss the impact of the agricultural insurance market on the industry.

Additionally, participants will hear about departmental research, value-added enterprises and livestock market updates from OSU experts as well as faculty views on agricultural finance and grain markets.

Registration before Oct. 9 is $50 and includes breakfast, lunch and breaks. After Oct. 9, registration will be $75.
