LAWTON – The Comanche County Fairgrounds Trust Authority will receive a $15,365.72 grant to provide additional funds for purchasing and installing a new generator for the annex building at the fairgrounds.
With little discussion, the Board of Comanche County Commissioners voted unanimously Dec. 9 to approve a notice of award and subrecipient agreement with the authority. Grant funds will come out of the county’s pot of American Rescue Plan Act dollars.
Oklahoma received about $1.87 billion in financial assistance under ARPA, part of a federal aid package designed to help local governments recover from the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Comanche County’s share was approximately $23.45 million.
All ARPA money must be allocated by the end of this year and spent by Dec. 31, 2026.
