Applications for absentee ballots available for 2025

Body

From staff reports Comanche County voters who want absentee ballots mailed to them for 2025 elections should apply now, said Election Board Secretary Amy Sims.

Any registered voter may request absentee ballots for a specific election or for a full calendar year, and there are many ways to apply.

“For many voters, the easiest way to apply is online through the State Election Board’s OK Voter Portal,” Sims said in a news release. “Voters can also fill out an application at the county election board or simply write us a letter.”

Letters must contain the following information:

• Voter’s name, resident address and signature.

• An ID number that matches the ID number on file (such as a driver’s license number or the last four digits of the voter’s Social Security number).

• Name of the school district where the voter lives.

• Name of the voter’s city if they live within the city limits.

• Address where the voter wants ballots mailed.

• Type of election.

• List of elections for which the voter wants absentee ballots. Voters may only request ballots for elections in which they are eligible to vote.

Some voters may need to confirm their address before submitting an application for an absentee ballot.

Voters who are confined to a nursing home or veterans center, physically incapacitated or caring for physically incapacitated people who cannot be left alone should mention those restrictions in their request. The information activates special procedures that make voting and returning absentee ballots easier.

Voters may request absentee ballots electronically using the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ ovp. To download a paper application, visit the Oklahoma State Election Board website at oklahoma. gov/elections. Applications are also available at your county election board.
