The splash pad in Chickasha’s Shannon Springs Park was refurbished with a $60,000 grant received last year from the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust. The town’s two splash pads were constructed in 2007, Parks and Recreation Director Spencer Winzenried said. Both splash pads – in Shannon Springs and Washita parks – are open and operate for 12 hours a day, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“We’re designing a new sign for Lake Chickasha because this just doesn’t get it,” Mayor Zach Grayson deadpanned during a meeting of the city’s Parks and Recreation Board last week.
