From staff reports DUNCAN – Four legislators are set to speak at Duncan Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Coffee on June 20. The event provides local residents and business owners an opportunity to engage with their state lawmakers.
Sens. Kendal Sacchieri and Spencer Kern along with Reps. Stacy Jo Adams and Brad Boles will speak from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at Cameron University – Duncan, according to the Duncan Chamber of Commerce website.
The session is and is free and open to the public.
A former educator and McClain County Assessor, Sen. Sacchieri (R-Blanchard) assumed office in November 2024. Her district includes parts of Cleveland, Garvin, Grady, McClain and Stephens counties.
Sen. Kern (R-Duncan) also assumed office in November 2024. His membership on various Senate committees include Agriculture and Wildlife, Energy and Public Safety.
Rep. Adams (R-Duncan) is Vice Chair of the Insurance Committee and serves on the Appropriations and Budget Public Safety Subcommittee as well as the House Commerce and Economic Development Oversight and General Government committees.
A lifelong resident of Stephens County, Rep. Boles (R-Marlow) chairs the House Energy and Natural Resources Oversight Committee and serves on various Appropriations and Budget committees.
Discussion points may include workforce development programs, rural health care access and infrastructure investments, all of which remain pressing concerns for the region. Lawmakers are also likely to address efforts to simplify government processes and reduce red tape for small businesses.
The Chamber’s legislative coffee offer a valuable platform for community members to hear directly from their elected officials about the legislative session. Lawmakers are expected to recap key bills passed and initiatives underway, offering insights into how new state-level policies are likely to affect Duncan and the broader southwest Oklahoma region.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session, fostering direct interaction between citizens, business owners, and their representatives.
