The Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce has named Matt Tranquill as its next president and CEO. He will officially begin his new role Aug. 4.

Tranquill brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in media, business development and community engagement, Chamber officials said in a news release. He currently serves as the regional president and publisher for Adams Media Group, where he oversees operations in Idaho and Utah.

In 2024, Tranquill was recognized as the company’s regional president of the year for leading an aggressive financial and operational turnaround, according to the news release.

“When I first met Tranquill, I knew he was the right person for the position. He brings a level of energy and vision that is going to significantly enhance our Chamber and community,” said the Chamber’s current chairman, Austin Rabon.

Originally from West Virginia, Tranquill has lived and/or worked in Oklahoma, South Dakota, South Carolina, Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio, Utah and Idaho. His wide-ranging experience has given him a deep understanding of regional growth, economic collaboration and the needs of local businesses, Chamber officials said.

“I am honored to join the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber and serve a region with so much potential and pride,” Tranquill said. “It is my personal goal to meet every Chamber partner as quickly as I can. I want to listen, learn, and lead with the best interest of our business community at heart. Together, we can build an even stronger foundation for growth and opportunity.”

Tranquill is eager to partner with economic and business development organizations across the region to drive collaboration, create momentum and strengthen Lawton’s position as a hub of innovation and enterprise, officials said.

Tranquill and his wife, Marcie, have been married for 24 years. They have two children: Conner, a senior at Rogers State University, and Katelyn, age 13.
