MIAMI, Fla. – Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits, one of the world’s largest distributors of beverage alcohol, announced last week that it had reach a successful resolution of litigation brought by Major Brands Inc.

The case, which began in 2018, centered around claims by Major Brands that it had a franchise relationship with Jägermeister. Southern Glazer’s countered that there was no such franchise relationship and that its actions were entirely lawful.

After Southern Glazer’s and Jägermeister won an appellate victory, the case was dismissed with prejudice, ending about eight years of litigation. In addition, there was no settlement payment by either Southern Glazer’s or Jägermeister in connection with the dismissal.

“We are very satisfied with the appellate court's decision and the subsequent dismissal of the case,” said Alan Greenspan, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, Southern Glazer’s. “It validates what we’ve said from Day One — that Jägermeister didn’t have a franchise relationship with Major Brands and that our contact with them was appropriate and legal.”
