From staff reports Lawton voters who want to learn more about the Lawton City Council candidates for Wards 3, 4 and 5 will get a chance to hear the candidates make their sales pitches at an upcoming forum.
The Lawton League of Women Voters is hosting the event, which will run from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 31 at VFW Post 5263, 103 NE 20th St. in Lawton. The event is free and open to the public.
The candidates in each ward are: • Ward 3: Paul Greene, Charlie Pulliam and Kirby Brown.
• Ward 4: Tiffiney Dimery, Andrew Norris, incumbent Councilman George Gill, David Stebleton and Ronald Ballew.
• Ward 5: Incumbent Councilman Allan Hampton and David Burkett.
Two proposed amendments to Lawton’s city charter are also on the ballot.
The nonpartisan primary election is set for Sept. 9, and the general election – if needed – will be Nov. 18.
