Townhouse development near Cameron University approved

A townhouse development proposed to be built east of Cameron University in the College Addition received the Lawton City Council’s stamp of approval.

The six townhouse units are to be constructed on vacant land off D Avenue just east of 27th Street, and will bear the addresses of 2614-2624 SW D Avenue, Senior Planner Kameron Good told the council. The property is zoned for multi-family dwellings.

The townhouses will be three twounit buildings similar to a duplex. However, the developer, Incorp USA Enterprises, “wants to sell them as individual units, not as a duplex,” Good said.

The council approved the application, along with waivers of two requirements: a 25-foot setback at the exterior boundary of the development, and a required common open space.

“I’m really pleased to see” the plans for the project, “because it updates the whole neighborhood,” Ward 3 Councilwoman Linda Chapman said.
