Retailers closing at a high rate; new stores opening, too

OKLAHOMA CITY – American retailers have announced 8,633 store closures this year, eclipsing the 5,844 closings in all of 2018 by almost 48%, with three months left in the year, according to Coresight Research. Moreover, the tally might reach 12,000 by the end of the year, Coresight speculated.
