Unemployment claims fall, jobs increase

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission (OESC) continues to process record numbers of claims to provide unemployment compensation to support unemployed workers.

Jobless claims fall for second straight week

OKLAHOMA CITY – Almost a quarter of a million claims for unemployment benefits were filed with the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission (OESC) in a recent 35-day period. The agency processed 247,830 initial claims for Unemployment Insurance benefits between March 15 and April 18, records reflect.

Global air crash deaths fall by more than half in 2019

FRANKFURT, Germany – Far fewer people died in major air crashes around the world last year. Statistics compiled by aviation consulting firm To70 in the Netherlands show that the number of deaths fell by more than half in 2019, to 257 fatalities in eight accidents all year.
