Lawton honors ‘Extra Mile Heroes’

Harris, Malone make final bid for Ward 2 seat

LAWTON — After making it through the primary election in September, Mark Malone and Kelly Harris will square off again Tuesday, Nov. 9.   The two men are competing for the right to represent Ward 2 on the Lawton City Council for the next three years.

Stitt hails public, private alliances during Lawton clinic opening

LAWTON — Gov. Kevin Stitt hailed Lawton’s new Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Red Rock as a prime example of what the public and private sectors can achieve if they work together.

Dorsey takes over as Lawton’s new PIO

LAWTON — Lawton has a new public information director.   Kaley Patterson Dorsey was recently named as communications and marketing director for the city of Lawton, according to a news release from City Manager Michael Cleghorn’s office.

LAWTON — The city of Lawton’s stormwater division will host a rain harvesting event, where residents can learn to build their own cisterns for outdoor use, later this month.   The drive-through event, which is open only to Lawton residents, will run from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Oct.

LAWTON — Lawton’s Parks and Recreation Department will host its Halloween Spooktacular event from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 29 at Owens Recreation Center, 1405 SW 11th St. The event is free and open to the public.

LAWTON — A Lawton-area agency working to help victims of domestic and sexual violence will again host an annual walk intended to call awareness to the problem.   New Directions Domestic and Sexual Violence Services will host their sixth annual Domestic Violence Awareness Walk Oct. 5.
