Lawton lawyers rise to national prominence

What do Ferris Avenue, Gore Boulevard and Elmer Thomas Park all have in common? All three locations are named after men who began their political careers in Lawton as lawyers in 1901, when the Kiowa-Comanche-Apache (KCA) Reservation was opened for homesteaders.

OHC to celebrate 15th anniversary

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma History Center will celebrate its 15th anniversary by offering free admission to the public Nov. 17-21, sponsored by the Inasmuch Foundation. The OHC will also open its newest permanent exhibit, “Launch to Landing: Oklahomans and Space,” on Nov. 17.
