Cigarette, tobacco taxes generate mega bucks

OKLAHOMA CITY – Even after 20 years of “significant investment” in anti-smoking programs by the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET), sales of cigarettes and other tobacco products in Oklahoma generated $362 million in tax revenue last year.

State Dept. of Health supports raising the age to buy tobacco

OKLAHOMA CITY – A federal law was recently signed raising the age for tobacco use. It is now illegal for a retailer to sell any tobacco product, including cigarettes, cigars, smokeless tobacco, and e-cigarettes, to anyone under the age of 21.
