Frigid temps cause broken mains, burst pipes

LAWTON – The sub-freezing temperatures that settled in Oklahoma for five days starting on Valentine’s Day wreaked havoc on Lawton’s water system that are still being addressed a month later.

Lawton waterline break

MAJOR LEAK – During Tuesday’s Lawton City Council meeting, Ward 5 Councilman Sean Fortenbaugh expressed concern about “water breaks in town; there are a lot of them.” This river of treated water is from a waterline break that has been reported to city officials more than once in recent days.
