LAWTON – Latest figures from Comanche County Memorial Hospital and Lawton Public Schools indicate the number of COVID-19 cases is dropping. The hospital had 18 COVID-19 patients as of October 19 with 14 of those being unvaccinated.

LAWTON – Almost 90% of Lawton Public Schools students who have received positive COVID-19 test results since August 12 have recovered, according to district figures released Tuesday. Numbers show 280 of the 315 students have recovered from the illness with the remaining 35 still in isolation.
As of Sept. 13, all CCMH beds were full, including the intensive care unit. The hospital reported having 53 COVID patients, 43 of which were unvaccinated. In ICU, the hospital had 17 COVID patients, 15 of which were unvaccinated.

LAWTON — COVID-19 cases have increased more than 3000% at Comanche County Memorial Hospital since the end of July, prompting state and local officials to erect a large tent to be used as an additional emergency room waiting area for the foreseeable future.
