CHICKASHA – The 2025 Chickasha Festival of Light concluded a record holiday season, further solidifying its reputation as one of the premier Christmas destinations in the United States.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Chickasha Festival of Light was recognized by USA Today as one of the Top 5 Christmas Light Displays in the Country – an honor that reflects both the scale of the event and the continued dedication to excellence by the Festival of Light board, the City of Chickasha, the community partners, sponsors, and volunteers.
According to Placer.ai visitation analytics, the 2025 festival generated more than 250,000 visits from guests traveling throughout the southwest U.S., the most ever for the event and more than double any other Christmas light display in Oklahoma.
Visitors came from across Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Missouri and beyond, reinforcing Chickasha’s growing reputation as a regional tourism hub. Notably, Wichita Falls, Texas, ranked as the top outof- state city of origin for Festival attendees, underscoring the event’s strong draw from North Texas and surrounding markets.
A major highlight of the 2025 season was the dramatic enhancement of the festival’s iconic “Big Tree.” Through a strategic partnership with the University of Oklahoma Engineering Department, OU students collaborated to design and program new, advanced digital graphics for the tree.
Standing at 172 feet tall, the largest Christmas tree in Oklahoma now features dynamic digital displays visible from miles away, adding a cuttingedge visual element that captivated visitors throughout the season.
The festival’s national profile reached new heights when it was featured in a CBS National News segment on Christmas Eve morning, showcasing Chickasha as a true “Christmas Town.”
The segment was viewed by more than two million viewers nationwide, providing significant exposure and reinforcing the festival’s position as a must-see holiday destination.
“The 2025 season demonstrated once again that the Chickasha Festival of Light is more than an event; it is an economic driver, a point of civic pride, and a national destination,” festival Director Matthew Stockman said. “From national media recognition to record visitation and innovative partnerships, this year’s festival set a new benchmark for excellence.”
