FASTSIGNS OF LAWTON
LAWTON - FASTSIGNS of Lawton owner Matt Feil says he doesn’t regret his decision to become part of the world’s largest promotional corporation. Even before rebranding under the FASTSIGNS name, the Lawton-based business had received an overwhelming number of five-star ratings.
He attributes that to customer service, saying it has always been his top priority.
INITIAL SETBACKS
Matt developed the business for five years before converting it over to a FASTSIGNS franchise; a decision that came with a few initial setbacks.
Many existing customers thought he had been bought out by ‘big business.’ He experienced a short-lived slow period shortly after the transition, but he met with customers face-to-face to regain their confidence. Business has since picked up and the team expects great success moving forward.
“We’re still a small, independent and locally-owned business,” explained Matt. “They (FASTSIGNS Inc.) didn’t take any control from me. They’ve just allowed me to have a team of experts to help fulfill customer needs and they are extremely helpful. Afterall, their success depends upon my success.”
He explained that having the support of FASTSIGNS Inc. has been a real asset to his company.
“This industry moves fast,” he said. “If you’re not growing, you’re left behind. With the corporate teams weeding out what works and what doesn’t, they help me succeed. Their training, development and marketing programs are second to none. They are very supportive, and they even monitor my supplies and costs.”
SWITCHING GEARS
After being a motocross rider for several years, Matt came to Lawton in 1997 and worked for Honda-Yamaha Powersports. He was promoted to general manager before switching gears in 2004.
“When I started a document-shredding business in 2004, many of my clients had purchased bikes or jet skis from me,” said Matt. “After nine years, it was time for a change, so I sold the company in 2013. I’m glad to see that it is still doing well.”
MONKEY BIZ
Matt started Monkey Biz Sign and Design shortly after selling his document-shredding business. He joined the FASTSIGNS team in May 2018.
Converting from an existing business to a franchise has allowed Matt to focus on the business’ future. He is currently changing the floorplans to create a better workflow and allow for more production to be done.
Current projects range from creating simple business cards to fabricating billboard structures, which are made in-house.
They have also received many calls for interior wall wraps, décor and lighting, digital signs and vehicle wraps.
“I love it when customers let me try new ideas,” said Matt. “Since we became FASTSIGNS, we’ve started picking up new and different things.”
Other plans include opening new stores in the area. The full-service location will remain at 301 SE Wallock St., but two remote sites are expected to launch soon.
FASTSIGNS of Lawton can handle all of your business visibility needs - from digital signs to decor graphics and everything in between.
