The Oklahoma Cotton Council is preparing to host its sixth annual Denim Ball, a celebration of the cotton industry that promises a blend of casual fun and fundraising.

The event will be held April 4-5 at the historic First National Center, 120 N. Robinson Ave., in Oklahoma City, a venue that combines classic architecture with modern amenities.

“This year the event will be more informal,” said Charity Martin, the Cotton Council’s executive director of member services. “We’re kicking things off with a happy hour on Friday and a party in the vault on Saturday.”

April 5, there will be a golf scramble at Trosper Park. Cost is $350 per team.

Beyond the social events, the Denim Ball offers a range of activities. “We’ll also have a golf tournament, recognition of new members of the Cotton Hall of Fame, and a silent and live auction to raise funds for advancement of the cotton industry,” Martin related. The event serves as both a celebration of the industry’s achievements and a crucial fundraising opportunity, she said.

“Sponsorship opportunities are closing soon, but there’s still time to participate,” Martin said.

Tickets for the Denim Ball are $60 each or $750 for a table. Martin directed attendees to the event’s online hub for details. “All necessary information, including hotel reservations, the agenda, and auction items, can be found at okiecotton.com.”

The dress code for the event is relaxed, reflecting the informal atmosphere. “Attendees are encouraged to wear anything from boots and jeans to cocktail dresses,” Martin said, adding that denim and cotton are, of course, welcome.
