From staff reports LAWTON – City H all is taking bid pr oposals for leasing RV sites at School House Slough on Lake Lawtonka.

Since the City of Lawton assumed control of School House Slough on Jan. 1, 2023, all spaces have been occupied without availability for new lessees. “With this new bidding process, interested parties will have the chance to secure a lease on these highly sought-after spaces,” said Cait lin Gatlin, the city ’s communications and marketing manager.

Base fees for the f ive RV sites range from $4,238.28 to $5,146.48, she said. Prices may vary based on the proximity to the l ake and the availability of sewer services, Gatlin said.

When filling out a bid application, bidders will see the a vailable RV sites, along with a description of the site and the annual lease price. The proposed bid represents a one-time payment above the annual lease price for limited access to specified RV space(s) listed in the RV Site Description on the application.

“We ask that if someone is bidding on more than one RV site, to designate priorities to e ach,” Gatlin said.

“It's crucial to no te that any bid from an interested party constitutes a onetime payment,” she emphasized. “Should the bidder o pt to r enew their le ase, they would only need to cover the base f ee we are currently taking bids on, witho ut any additional charges.”

A map outlines the five available spaces for lease, highlighted in red. Leases will ex pire on Dec . 31, 2024.
