LAWTON - Enrollment at Cameron University is on track to set a new record for concurrent students or high school students taking college classes.
During the Fall 2019 semester, 324 high school juniors and seniors across southwest Oklahoma enrolled in 1,818 credit hours at Cameron. For the Spring 2020 semester, 321 high school students are currently enrolled for 1,778 total credit hours. Eligible concurrent students receive tuition waivers, which are made possible by funding from the Oklahoma Legislature. Students are responsible for mandatory fees, textbooks and other costs including a parking permit, student I.D., and, when applicable, online course fees and other course-specific fees.
To take concurrent classes at Cameron, students who attend an accredited high school must have a 3.0 GPA or better, be in the top 50% of their class or have a minimum ACT 20 (composite) score or SAT 1020 (Evidence-Based Reading, Writing and Math) score. Home-schooled students must have a minimum 20 ACT (composite) and complete high school coursework equivalent to an individual classified as a junior or senior at an accredited high school.
In addition to the fall and spring semesters, concurrent classes are offered during the summer semester.
