LAWTON – Lawton joined other government agencies around the nation Tuesday when it made the decision to utilize BidSync going forward.
BidSync is the government bid application that uses artificial intelligence to find the right bids for businesses. Lawton will use it as digital transformation efforts continue across the organization.
BidSync is owned and operated by Periscope Holdings, a leader in government-based solutions. This system will electronically notify potential City of Lawton vendors based on the National Institute of Governmental Procurement Codes of Products and Services, allowing a broader and expedited viewing of bid notifications.
“BidSync is the government bid notification service that relies on machine learning technology to find bids that should be added to your sales pipeline,” states the company’s website. “We call it our Relevance Engine. It leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) to learn what type of bids matter to your business – delivering the most relevant, winnable bids on a daily basis.”
Formerly, contracts and bids were prepared manually and mailed out to prospective vendors.
“Obtaining BidSync allows our team to operate more efficiently, as the bid process can now be digitally streamlined,” said Finance Director Kara Haynes. “We can broaden our search as well to gain the very best products for the best prices.”
Lawton is not the first city in Oklahoma to partner with BidSync. Oklahoma City is already one of its clients.
According to BidSync, the company uses advanced search and aggregation technology to check thousands of agency websites on a near real-time basis. With BidSync, organizations know about new bid opportunities as soon as they are released, the company stated. It can ease the pressure on pushing outrushed responses or lost bid opportunities due to late notification.
According to BidSync, it has more than 100,000 new government bid opportunities per month. The company says it takes in $2 billion in new government business per month as well.
The system was scheduled to go live in Lawton Aug. 27. Vendors will be able to register with BidSync through lawtonok.gov to receive electronic notifications when the City is going out for products or services in given areas.
