LAWTON – Trick-or-treating in residential neighborhoods will be observed from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 29 in Lawton, city officials said in a news release.
Here are some general safety tips for trick-or-treating:
• Plan routes in advance.
• Practice street safety, such as looking both ways before crossing roads.
• Inspect all candy before it is consumed.
• Carry flashlights or other sources of light.
• Wear reflective and/or brightly colored clothing.
• Never enter a stranger’s home.
The public is invited to attend the annual Halloween Bash, hosted by city staffers, from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 28 in the Banquet Hall of City Hall, 212 SW Ninth St.
City staff will also host two Halloween events at the Owens Multipurpose Center, 1405 SW 11th St.
The public is invited to “One Night at Owens” for games, prizes and raffles from 4-7:30 p.m. Oct. 28.
The public is also invited to join city staff for the first Trunk-or-Treat event from 5 to 7 p.m. Halloween night, Oct. 31, at the Owens Multipurpose Center parking. There will be candy, games and prizes. For more information, contact caitlin.gatlin@lawtonok.gov.
