CrossCurrent Digital, America’s only Christian and conservative digital book platform, is pushing back against Amazon and other large conglomerates who want to dismiss biblical values, company representative Clayton Butcher said recently.

Butcher, attending his second Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., made his comments in an interview with Hilliary Media Group.

He said the company is excited about bringing another option to support audio books and e-books to people with Christian values. CrossCurrent Digital is planning a major update of its inventory, with about 10,000 new entries on its website in the next few weeks.

Butcher, an audiobook narrator, said the industry has seen double-digit growth year after year, and there are no apparent signs of that increase stopping.

However, another problem stands in the way with Amazon’s stance on Christian beliefs and values, Butcher said.

Many Christian and right-of-center publishers depend on Amazon for the majority of their sales. In 2021, it came to the attention of CrossCurrent Digital that the powerhouse publisher was censoring books, including the removal of “When Harry Became Sally,” Butcher said in the interview.

In 2022, Amazon removed a Christian publisher’s entire Amazon store, claiming “they had published books with misleading content that have the potential to mislead or defraud” Amazon customers, according to the CrossCurrent Digital website.

Butcher described “When Harry Became Sally” as the most “comprehensive and compassionate critique” of the transgender issue. Butcher also said he expects CrossCurrent’s book offerings to be pulled from app stores “because we stand on Christian and conservative values.” As a result, the company has built a family-friendly digital content platform that won’t face problems from Amazon. The family-friendly digital content platform will allow CrossCurrent to be customers’ “safe harbor,” where e-books, audiobooks and other digital content that won’t be canceled “by progressively radical (woke) corporations that currently have the digital book market cornered and are showing alarming signs of censorship,” CrossCurrent wrote on its website.
