Rainfall totals averaged 1.06 inches across Oklahoma the week of March 8-14, with the northeast district recording the highest totals at 2.87 inches.

Drought conditions were rated 52% abnormally dry to exceptional drought, 21 points up from the prior week, according to the March 9 U.S. Drought Monitor Report. Additionally, 23% of the state was in the moderate drought to exceptional drought category, up nine points from the previous week.

Statewide, temperatures averaged in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Here’s a look at how crops fared the week of March 8-14:

Small grains: Jointing winter wheat reached 15%, up six points from the previous year but down one point from normal. Jointing rye reached 4%, unchanged from the previous year but down five points from normal. Jointing oats reached 1%, down two points from the previous year and four points from normal.

Pasture and livestock: Pasture and range condition was rated at 66% fair to poor. Livestock condition was rated at 90% good to fair.
