Rainfall totals in Oklahoma averaged 0.75 of an inch for the week of July 5 through 11, with the northeast district recording the highest total at 1.33 inches.

Drought conditions were rated 7% abnormally dry to exceptional drought, down nine points from the previous week, according to the July 6 U.S. Drought Monitor Report. Additionally, 1% of the state was in the moderate drought to exception-al drought category, down one point from the previous week.

Statewide, temperatures averaged in the high 70s. Topsoil moisture conditions were rated mostly adequate to surplus, while subsoil moisture conditions were rated adequate to short.

Here’s a look at how crops fared for the week:

Small grains: Winter wheat harvested reached 97%, down three points from the previous year and one point from normal.

Canola harvested reached 88%, down four points from the previous year and seven points from normal.

Rye harvested reached 80%, down 11 points from the previous year and 16 points from normal.

Oats harvested reached 59%, up eight points from the previous year but down 12 points from normal.

Row crops: Corn silk-ing reached 32%, down two points from the previous year and 10 points from normal.

Sorghum planted reached 96%, up one point from the previous year but down one point from normal. Sorghum headed reached 9%, unchanged from the previous year but down eight points from normal.

Soybeans planted reached 85%, down eight points from the previous year and seven points from normal.

Soybeans emerged reached 69%, down five points from the previous year and 10 points from normal.

Peanuts pegging reached 30%, down five points from the previous year and 12 points from normal.

Cotton squaring reached 46%, up 17 points from the previous year and seven points from normal. Cotton setting bolls reached 1%, unchanged from the previous year but down four points from normal.

Hay: The second cutting of alfalfa hay reached 80%, up three points from the previous year but down one point from normal. The first cutting of other hay reached 94%, up nine points from the previous year and four points from normal.

The second cutting of other hay reached 12 percent, down five points from the previous year and nine points from normal.

Pasture and livestock: Pasture and range condition was rated at 87% good to fair. Livestock condition was rated at 83% good to fair.
