Rainfall totals in Oklahoma averaged 2.47 inches for the week of June 21-27, with the central district recording the highest total at 4.36 inches.

Drought conditions were rated 24% abnormally dry to exceptional drought, up nine points from the previous week, according to the June 22 U.S. Drought Monitor Report. Additionally, 6% of the state was in the moderate drought to exceptional drought category, up one point from the previous week.

Statewide temperatures averaged in the high 70s. Topsoil moisture conditions were rated mostly adequate to short, while subsoil moisture conditions were rated short to adequate

Here’s a snapshot of how crops fared for the week

Small grains: Winter wheat harvested reached 80%, down 14 points from the previous year and five points from normal.

Canola harvested reached 70%, up one point from the previous year but down 11 points from normal.

Rye harvested reached 60%, down three points from the previous year and 15 points from normal.

Oats headed reached 95%, up 11 points from the previous year and three points from normal. Oats harvested reached 40%, up 13 points from the previous year but down five points from normal.

Row crops: Corn emerged reached 95%, down two points from the previous year and one point from normal. Corn silk reached 15%, unchanged from the previous year but down seven points from normal.

Sorghum planted reached 80%, down five points from the previous year and five points from normal. Sorghum headed reached 1%, unchanged from the previous year but down five points from normal.

Soybeans planted reached 65%, down 14 points from the previous year and 14 points from normal. Soybeans emerged reached 42%, down 27 points from the previous year and 22 points from normal.

Peanuts planted reached 95%, up 11 points from the previous year but down one point from normal. Peanuts pegging reached 14%, down five points from the previous year but unchanged from normal.

Cotton planted reached 92%, down two points from the previous year and four points from normal. Cotton squaring reached 11%, up two points from the previous year but down seven points from normal.

Hay: The first cutting of alfalfa hay reached 95%, up five points from the previous year and one point from normal. The second cutting of alfalfa hay reached 49%, down four points from the previous year and 10 points from normal.

The first cutting of other hay reached 77%, unchanged from the previous year but down three points from normal.

Pasture and livestock: Pasture and range condition was rated at 87% good to fair. Livestock condition was rated at 88% good to fair.
