Rainfall totals in Oklahoma averaged 0.31 of an inch for the week of July 19 through 25, with the south-central district recording the highest total at 0.58 of an inch.

Drought conditions were rated 9% abnormally dry to exceptional drought, down one point from the previous week, according to the July 20 U.S. Drought Monitor Report. Additionally, 1% of the state was in the moderate drought to exceptional drought category, unchanged from the previous week.

Statewide, temperatures averaged in the high 70s. Topsoil moisture conditions were rated mostly adequate to short, while subsoil moisture conditions were rated adequate to surplus.

Here’s a look at how crops fared for the week:

Small grains: Oats harvested reached 82%, down seven points from the previous year and 12 points from normal.

Row crops: Cornsilk reached 60%, down 11 points from the previous year and 10 points from normal. Corn dough reached 12%, down 10 points from the previous year and six points from normal.

Sorghum headed reached 28%, down six points from the previous year and seven points from normal. Sorghum coloring reached 9%, unchanged from the previous year but down two points from normal.

Soybeans emerged reached 90%, up one point from the previous year but down one point from normal. Soybeans blooming reached 28%, down 11 points from the previous year and four points from normal.

Peanuts pegging reached 45%, down four points from the previous year and nine points from normal.

Cotton squaring reached 59%, down four points from the previous year and 12 points from normal. Cotton setting bolls reached 18%, down five points from the previous year and six points from normal.

Hay: The second cutting of alfalfa hay reached 93%, down one point from the previous year and one point from normal. The third cutting of alfalfa hay reached 37%, down 17 points from the previous year and 12 points from normal.

The second cutting of other hay reached 32%, up three points from the previous year but down seven points from normal.

Pasture and livestock: Pasture and range condition was rated at 79% good to fair. Livestock condition was rated at 81% good to fair
