From staff reports Early voting begins March 27 for Kiowa County’s municipal and Caddo Kiowa Technology Center elections, according to a news release from the Kiowa County Election Board. Voters who will not be able to make it to the polls on election day have the option of voting early at the election board.

Early voting is open to all voters, said Election Board Secretary Terri Meinert.

“You do not need to provide an excuse to vote early,” she said. “Oklahoma allows early voting for all elections conducted through the State Election Board – from school board and municipal elections to state and federal elections. This is a great option for those who will be out of town on election day or who want to avoid long lines.”

Sample ballots Sample for the April 1 elections are now available, Meinert said in a separate news release.

Voters may download a sample ballot using the Oklahoma State Election Board’s OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ ovp, or they may pick up a copy at the Kiowa County Election Board during normal business hours.

Sample ballots are specific to each person, Meinert said.

“If the OK Voter Portal indicates that you have no sample ballots available, it means you are not eligible to vote in an upcoming election,” she said. “We recommend checking the OK Voter Portal to make sure you have an election before heading to the polls.”

Meinert said sample ballots will also be posted outside every precinct polling place the day of the election, so voters can review them before casting their votes.

The county election board, 201 N. Lincoln in Hobart, is open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
