Ethics Commission hikes election contribution caps

OKLAHOMA CITY – The maximum contribution per election that individuals can make to 2020 candidate committees, and that state candidate committees may make to other state candidate committees, has been increased by $100: to $2,800.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The maximum contribution per election that individuals can make to 2020 candidate committees, and that state candidate committees may make to other state candidate committees, has been increased by $100: to $2,800. The adjustment was made by the state Ethics Commission. Nevertheless, candidate committees created for elections prior to 2020 still have the same individual contribution limit and the same individual contribution limit and the same candidate-committee-to-candidate-committee contribution limit of $2,700.

In a related matter, Oct. 31 is the deadline for candidate committees, state political party committees and political action committees to file their contributions and expenditures reports for the third quarter. All three types of committees are supposed to file contributions/expenditures reports for the period of July 1, 2019, through Sept. 30, 2019.

The next Ethics Commission meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 8 in Room 511A at the State Capitol, located at 23rd Street and Lincoln Boulevard in Oklahoma City.
