EAST GREENWICH, R.I. – The Corvias Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting educational opportunities for military families, launched its scholarship applications for 2021 Monday. The applications are available to military spouses and children of active-duty service members.

Scholarships are available for military spouses and dependents pursuing a college degree. Recipients of the military-dependent scholarship will receive a four-year scholarship of up to $50,000, and the 20 recipients of the military spouse scholarship will be awarded $5,000 apiece.

Funds may be used for any need that will help recipients earn their degree, such as tuition, childcare or fuel for transportation.

The application process for military-dependent scholarships will close Feb. 12, 2021, while the process for military spouse scholarships will end May 7.

Students and alumni of the military-dependent scholarship receive additional support in the form of professional guidance through resume workshops, interview preparation and other activities. They also have access to internships, mentoring and volunteer opportunities through the Corvias Foundation network.
