Gubernatorial candidate forum to highlight Stephens County GOP annual Fish Fry

An Oklahoma gubernatorial candidate forum will highlight Stephens County Republican Party’s 22nd annual fish fry. The party fundraiser has grown to become Oklahoma’s second largest gathering of Republicans each year.

Allowing attendees to hear from directly the candidates themselves, the forum, moderated by District Attorney Jason Hicks, this year will feature six Republican candidates running for Oklahoma Governor. Those candidates include Attorney General Gentner Drummond; former Rio Communities, New Mexico, City Manager Leisa Mitchell Haynes; former Secretary of Public Safety Chip Keating, former Sen. Mike Mazzei, former House Speaker Charles McCall, and former Sen. Jake Merrick.

The annual event, scheduled for Saturday May 23 at the Stephens County Fairgrounds in Duncan, features a menu of fresh fried fish, coleslaw, beans and other sides, plus dessert and drinks. Both a live and silent auction will be held.

Tickets, tables sponsorships

“Seats, tables and sponsorships are already being reserved for the event,” said Stephens County GOP Chairman Leon Farris, “And with this being a political year we are expecting a sellout. Also, we hope to be in the new addition that is nearing completion for the event.”

Tables of 8 are $350 and include two tickets to a reception with the candidates before the event. Individual tickets are available for $50 each. There are different levels sponsorships as well. For tickets, sponsorships and more details, call (580) 656- 7951.
