Kubota Tractor Corp. recently added two new products to its excavator lineup.
The K008-5 conventional tail swing excavator and the U10-5 minimal tail swing excavator led the company’s product rollouts for 2022, the company said in a Jan. 18 news release. The K008-5 replaced the -3 model with various upgrades, while the U10-5 took a brand-new slot in Kubota’s U Series lineup.
The company previewed the U10-5 model in January on the World of Concrete showroom floor, and both models will be available at authorized Kubota dealerships in the early spring, according to the news release.
“Our new excavators are ideal for tight, confined spaces, and with the U10-5 being a minimal tail swing excavator and both excavators featuring retractable tracks, they are ready to work in even the narrowest spaces on the job site,” said Patrick Baker, Kubota construction equipment product manager. “With the new K008-5 and U10-5, we now have a broad offering of 13 compact excavator models across the 1- to 8-ton weight classes and now feature more flexibility among the conventional and minimal tail swing lines.”
Both models offer easy, single-level maneuverability with hydraulic adjustable track widths that contract quickly to fit easily through tight spaces, according to the news release. The K008-5’s tracks adjust down to 2 feet, 4 inches, and the U10-5 contracts to 2 feet, 6 inches. When the operator wants to widen the tracks, they expand to 2 feet, 10 inches, and 3 feet, 3 inches, respectively.
Both products are likely to attract customers, said Reed Boettcher, advertising director for Great Plains Kubota.
“The all-new U10 – Kubota is anxious to see just how popular I know it will be,” he said Friday. “The K008-5 has always been popular, so I would imagine it will be as popular as ever.”
Boettcher said Great Plains Kubota is focusing growth in southwest Oklahoma and recently acquired the Cordell store.
