Lawmakers to recap session at legislative luncheon

LAWTON – A panel of six southwestern Oklahoma lawmakers are expected to give updates concerning the last legislative session this week.

During Lawton-Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce’s annual Legislative Luncheon, Reps. Daniel Pae (R-Lawton), Trey Caldwell (R-Faxon), Toni Hasenbeck (R-Elgin) and Rande Worthen (R-Lawton) alongside state Sens. Spencer Kern (R-Duncan) and Dusty Deevers (R-Elgin) are expected to speak at the Hilton Garden Inn, 135 NW Second St., in Lawton. The event is hosted by the Lawton-Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce.

This luncheon, held from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, offers area residents a direct opportunity to engage with legislators and gain insights into the outcomes of the recently concluded 2025 Legislative Session. Lawmakers will discuss passed bills, current initiatives and how new policies could affect southwest Oklahoma, especially expertise to these topics.

Pae serves as Chair of the House Appropriations and Budget Human Services Subcommittee and Vice Chair of the Children, Youth and Family Services Committee. He also holds positions on the Appropriations and Budget Committee, A&B Public Safety, Health and Human Services Oversight, and the Joint Committee on Appropriations and Budget.

Caldwell is Chair of the House Appropriations and Budget Committee, Chair of the Joint Committee on Appropriations and Budget, and Co-Chair of the Legislative Office of Fiscal Transparency (LOFT). His other committee assignments include Energy and Natural Resources Oversight, Legislative Evaluation and Development (LEAD), and Tourism.

Hasenbeck serves as a member of the House Appropriations & Budget Committee and the House Agriculture Committee. In previous legislatures, she also served as a House Floor Presiding Officer and Vice Chair of the House Public Health Committee.

Worthen is Chair of the Criminal Judiciary Committee. He also serves on the Administrative Rules Committee, A&B Judiciary, and Judiciary and Public Safety Oversight committees.
