Lawton to host statewide listening session in June

Together Oklahoma, in conjunction with the City of Lawton and the McMahon Memorial Authority, is excited to announce the upcoming Statewide 2SLGBTQIA+ Listening Session: Pride and Policy. Featuring best-selling author John Paul Brammer, this hybrid event will take place in Lawton and available to join online via Zoom across the state.

As the outreach advocacy arm of the Oklahoma Policy Institute, Together Oklahoma’s listening session offers an opportunity to hear directly from the organization’s partner communities,

The Pride and Policy Listening Session will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. June 16 at McMahon Memorial Auditorium, 801 NW Ferris Ave. in Lawton, as well as via Zoom. To register, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pride-policy-statewide-listening-session-tickets-345809063217.

The listening session is an opportunity for members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community to express their ideas and views regarding state and local policies and issues. The event will include a reading from JP Brammer, author of Hola Papi: How to Come Out in a Walmart Parking Lot and Other Life Lessons.”
