LAWTON – Legend Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealerships in Lawton will receive more than $2 million in major facelifts and repairs beginning in June, General Manager David Dunn confirmed.
The work will begin at the General Motors dealership with the demolition of the showroom building following by a total remodel. Cadillac, GMC and Buick fall under the GM umbrella. Construction will then move to the Legend Honda dealership.
“We are gutting everything and there will be brand new faces to all of them (dealerships),” Dunn said. “Everything that’s customer-oriented will be redone.”
The total cost for all construction work will be between $2.5 million and $3 million. Part of Legend’s agreement with the car manufacturers is that the buildings will be “refreshed” after two years, which requires significant facility upgrades.
“They requested it and we agreed to it,” Dunn said.
Construction will take about six months at each dealership with a temporary building erected so business is not interrupted. The dealerships have contracted with Lawton-based CDBL, Inc., for the construction work.
“This shows our commitment to Lawton and our manufacturing partners,” Dunn said. “I think we have a story to tell. We provide the best in customer service and parts as we possibly can. We train and retrain to keep our staff polished and really do the best for our customers and for each other.
