OKLAHOMA CITY – Family owned and operated Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores Inc. recently received a $7,502,945 Rural Development grant from the United States Department of Agriculture.
The company, headquartered in Oklahoma City, will use the investment to create infrastructure to expand the sales and use of renewable fuels derived from U.S. agricultural products through the Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program and the Rural Energy for America Program, according to a press release.
Another goal of the program is to encourage a more comprehensive approach to market higher blends by sharing the costs related to building out biofuel-related infrastructure. This project will fund installation of 25 ethanol storage tanks at 38 fueling stations in six states a nd is projected to increase the amount of ethanol sold by 32,578,389 gallons per year. Love’s will also retrofit 245 E15 dispensers.
The company was founded in 1964 and its core business is travel stops and convenience stores. Love’s includes over 640 locations in 42 states and employs more than 40,000 people.
