From staff reports MARLOW — State Rep. Brad Boles (R-Marlow) announced that he is launching his campaign for Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner.
Boles, 41, wrote that he has “a proven track record of conservative leadership, private sector success, and deep experience in Oklahoma’s critical energy, utility, and manufacturing industries,” and “brings unmatched qualifications to the role.”
The Corporation Commission “plays a vital role in protecting Oklahoma consumers, ensuring fair utility rates, supporting responsible energy development, and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our state’s economy,” Boles said. “I am running to bring strong conservative leadership, real-world business experience, and a progrowth, pro-jobs vision to the Commission.”
If elected, he would replace Todd Hiett, who was elected to the Corporation Commission in 2014 and is constitutionally term-limited after 12 years in office.
Boles is a third-generation business owner who in 10 years helped grow his family’s manufacturing company, Wilco – a metal fabrication business his grandfather, Pete Boles, started in 1973 – from 100 employees to nearly 500 before its sale to a Fortune 500 company. Under his leadership, Wilco was recognized as one of the fastest growing privately owned manufacturing businesses in the nation, according to Inc. Magazine.
He co-founded Philtek Services, which has grown to more than 100 employees across eight states.
A lifelong resident of Stephens County, Boles graduated from Marlow High School in 2002. He attended Eastern Oklahoma State College, where he played baseball and graduated with an associate degree in business. Boles then attended Dallas Baptist University, where he played NCAA Division-1 baseball and completed his bachelor’s degree in business. He earned a dual MBA degree in finance and business management, graduating with honors.
Boles served as mayor of Marlow in 2014-18 and was also on the Marlow Public School Board of Education. He also served as president of the Marlow Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
The candidate and his wife, Michelle, are college sweethearts and have been married for 19 years. They live in Marlow and have two school-age children.
Boles has served eight years in the Legislature, where he chaired the Energy & Natural Resources Oversight Committee in the state House of Representatives. He also has been a member of the House Committee on Commerce & Economic Development Oversight.
He has received multiple statewide awards for his work in the Legislature, including:
• 2021 Legislator of the Year, Association of County Commissioners of Oklahoma.
• 2023 Legislative Advocate of the Year, Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance.
• 2024 Legislator of the Year, Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma.
• 2025 Economic Development Legislator of the Year, Select Oklahoma.
Boles also was the House sponsor this year of Senate Bill 480, the landmark “behind the meter” legislation which Governor Stitt called “potentially the most transformational economic development policy in state history,” driving billions of dollars in new investment into Oklahoma’s energy sector.
