The State Chamber of Oklahoma will host the second annual National Civics Bee State Finals in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, American Fidelity and several local chambers of commerce, the organization said in a news release.
The civics competition will include middle school students from across the state, competing to advance to the National Civics Bee Championship in Washington D.C.
People are invited to attend the event and support the students as they share ideas for improving communities and show their enthusiasm for civics.
The event is set for May 12 at Innovation Hall in Oklahoma City’s Innovation District, 316 NE Ninth St., according to the news release.
Check-in and networking, with a continental breakfast, will run from 9:15 to 10 a.m.
The competition will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until noon.
People are encouraged to bring their families and children to join the fun. The event is free, but advance registration is required.
