LAWTON — Nine candidates, including three incumbents, are seeking seats on the Lawton City Council this year.
The candidates for Wards 6, 7 and 8 filed their declarations of candidacy between July 31-Aug. 2 with the Comanche County Election Board.
The primary municipal election for the nonpartisan council seats is set for Sept. 12, as well as with a special election on whether to extend Lawton’s ad valorem street improvement program. If a runoff election for the council seats is necessary, it will take place Nov. 14.
Here’s a list of the candidates, organized by ward. The letter I in parentheses after a candidate’s name denotes the incumbent.
