OKLAHOMA CITY – A $1.32 million contract was approved last week for an inspection and inventory of billboards and junkyards across Oklahoma. The state Transportation Commission awarded the contract to WSB, an architecture, engineering, and construction company.

Services under the contract include inventory and evaluation of outdoor advertising signs across the state, along with junkyards adjacent to national highways.

Completion of field data inventory is anticipated in April 2027, with final deliverables by June 2027, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation reported.

ODOT Maintenance Engineer Jon Arps “advised that this is not due to complaints but is an effort to determine which operators located off state rights-of-way are or are not compliant with existing statutes,” Kalie Eldridge of ODOT’s Communications, Government and Community Affairs Division said.
