OKLAHOMA CITY – The number of Oklahomans who have become infected with the Coronavirus has grown to 44, officials with the state health department said today.

Data release by the health department shows that more than 700 Oklahomans have been tested for Covid-19.

Of that figure, 466 tested negative, with another 250 are awaiting results. Four Oklahomans have been hospitalized and health officials have reported one death.

As of Thursday, the Center for Disease Control has confirmed 9,272 cases of Covid-19. The CDC reports 141 deaths. A majority of the cases have occurred in New York, California and Washington.

On Thursday, two members of Oklahoma’s congressional delegation – Reps. Tom Cole, R-Norman and Kendra Horn, D-Oklahoma City, said they would self-quarantine because they had contact with members of congress who had tested positive for the virus.

Horn said she had contact with Rep. Ben McAdams, D-Utah, while Cole said he had contact with Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Florida.
