- An asphalt overlay project on US-62 between Lawton and Cache is progressing. The state Transportation Commission awarded a $6.2 million contract on the job to Overland Corp. in April; the work is projected to be finished in August, weather permitting, reported Mills Leslie of the DOT’s Strategic Communications Division. Here, the contractor is resurfacing the on/off ramps extending from US-62 to the SH-115 overpass leading to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. KYLETTA RAY | SOUTHWEST LEDGER
- US-62 in Comanche County is receiving a facelift from about one-half mile west of 82nd Street in Lawton to nearly half a mile west of SH-115 in Cache. Traffic on the eight-mile section of the highway ranges from approximately 5,100 vehicles daily west of 82nd Street to approximately 6,200 vehicles each day west of SH-115, research by the Oklahoma DOT indicates.
