OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Rural Schools Coalition has released its 2026 Oklahoma Primary Election Voter Guide. It is a comprehensive, online, nonpartisan resource designed to help voters navigate the June 16 primary election and better understand the candidates and issues that will appear on their ballots.
The guide includes profiles for state and federal primary election candidates, information about State Question 832 (minimum wage increase), and direct links to candidate websites and social media accounts to help voters conduct their own independent research.
“Oklahoma consistently ranks last in the nation for voter turnout, and too many voters don’t realize that most of our state’s elected officials are effectively chosen during the June primary elections,” said Erika Wright, founder of the Oklahoma Rural Schools Coalition. “Our goal is to provide Oklahomans with the information they need to participate in the election that often has the greatest impact on who represents them.”
According to data highlighted in the voter guide, two years ago 70% of state-level offices were effectively decided before the end of June, underscoring the importance of primary election participation.
The Oklahoma Rural Schools Coalition’s “Make It Count” voter guide was created to serve as an accessible, one-stop resource for voters seeking information about candidates, election deadlines, voter registration requirements, absentee voting, and polling locations. The organization encourages voters to review the guide, verify their voter registration status, and make a plan to vote on June 16.
The coalition also emphasizes the importance of community engagement, encouraging Oklahomans to share voter information with friends, family members and neighbors in an effort to increase participation in the primary election.
The June 16 primary election will include races for numerous federal, statewide, legislative and local offices, making it one of the most significant election dates of the year for Oklahoma voters. The 2026 Oklahoma Primary Election Voter Guide is online at www. okruralschools.org/ elections.
