Teen admits robbing four Okla. City banks

OKLAHOMA CITY – A teenager has admitted robbing four banks in northwest Oklahoma City in three and a half months.

Reuben Ondra Ellis, 19, of Oklahoma City, pleaded guilty in OKC’s Western District federal court to robbing one bank, but as part of his plea, he admitted robbing three others, as well. The holdups occurred between Dec. 21, 2020, and April 5, 2021, investigators said.

At sentencing, Ellis faces up to 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release, a fine of $250,000, and mandatory restitution, said Western District Acting U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester said.
