Tillman Co. favors Trump, Inhofe, Cole by 3-to-1 margins

OKLAHOMA CITY – Tillman County voters Tuesday endorsed President Trump, Senator Inhofe and Congressman Cole by margins of 3-to-1.

The Trump/Pence GOP ticket received 2,076 votes (76.66%) of the 2,708 ballots cast for President. The Biden/Harris Democratic ticket received 597 votes (22.05%) of the votes cast in that race.

Libertarians Jo Jorgenson and Jeremy Spike Cohen, along with the three Independent slates, which included Kanye West and Michelle Tidball, received a collective total of 35 votes, 1.30% of the total cast.

Republican incumbent U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe received 2,077 votes (76.87%) to 541 votes (20.02%) for Democrat Abby Broyles, a former television reporter/anchor from Oklahoma City.

Veteran 4th District U.S. Rep. Tom Cole, R-Norman, received 2,096 votes (77.89%) to 541 votes (20.10%) for challenger Mary Brannon, D-Washington, Okla., and 54 votes (2.01%) for Libertarian candidate Bob White of Norman.

Incumbent Corporation Commissioner Todd Hiett, R-Kellyville, garnered 2,149 votes (84.84%) to 384 votes (15.16%) for Bixby Libertarian Todd Hagopian.

State Question 805, a criminal justice measure that would bar “sentence enhancements” for some crimes, was overwhelmingly rejected: 69.52% no to 30.48% yes.

State Question 814 – a proposal to redirect a large portion of annual tobacco industry payments to help fund the state’s share of Medicaid expansion which Oklahoma voters approved four months ago – was spurned by a margin of 58.52% no to 41.48% yes.

State Supreme Court and Court of Criminal Appeals judges all received support of 70%+ of Tillman County’s voters, while retention of all three Court of Civil Appeals judges was endorsed by just under 70% of the voters.

Absentee mail-in ballots and early voting accounted for 27% of the votes cast in Tillman County in the presidential, congressional, senatorial, and Corporation Commission contests.
