CHICKASHA — The Chamber of Commerce invites business owners, property owners, and community members to attend a town hall meeting focused on current property tax legislation at the State Capitol.
The event will be held Friday, March 13, at 9 a.m. in City Hall, 117 N. 4th Street. Coffee and donuts will be served, Chamber President Jim Cowan said.
The forum will provide an opportunity to hear directly from State Reps. Brad Boles, R-Marlow, and Dick Lowe, R-Amber, about proposed legislation that could affect property taxes throughout Oklahoma.
The lawmakers are slated to discuss bills under consideration and explain how potential changes might affect homeowners, businesses, county government, career techs, and public schools.
In addition, attendees will receive a breakdown of how local property tax dollars are allocated and spent, offering transparency into how these funds support schools, public safety, infrastructure, and other essential services.
Anyone interested in understanding the future of property taxes in Oklahoma is encouraged to attend and participate in this discussion.
