From staff reports While the number of active oil and gas rigs in Oklahoma held steady over the past week, the latest Baker Hughes Co. rig count showed a decline nationwide.Oklahoma’s count was unchanged at 53 rigs, nine more than a year ago at this time.The nation’s count fell by two to 590 rigs.

Oklahoma rainfall averages 2.48 inches

Thunderstorms and strong winds were reported across Oklahoma recently, with some tornadoes spotted in the southeast district.Rainfall totals in the state averaged 2.48 inches for the week of March 31-April 6, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.
