The First National Bank of Lindsay was closed Oct. 18, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. was named receiver, and the bank’s insured deposits were transferred to First Bank & Trust Co. in Duncan.

Elgin delays action on hiring events coordinator

ELGIN – The Elgin City Council is expected to make a final decision next month on hiring a part-time staffer to coordinate the city’s events.After discussing the proposal Oct. 8, the council voted 4-0 to table it until the board’s November meeting.
