Elgin Council appoints new Ward 2 representative

ELGIN – Ward 2 has a new representative on the Elgin City Council.The council voted 4-0 Sept. 26 to appoint Elgin resident Eleanor Martinez to the position after hearing short speeches from Martinez and two other applicants, plus another woman who spoke on behalf of applicant Kaci Bennett.
For generations, patients have trusted their care to compassionate physicians and staff of Comanche County Memorial Hospital, Jackson County Memorial Hospital and Duncan Regional Hospital. Twenty-five years ago, executives from each of the southwest Oklahoma hospitals collaborated together to improve care for cancer patients. Voices of hope encourage cancer patients, families

LAWTON – Cancer survivor Henry Ray, Lawton, offers words of encouragement to anyone facing the potentially fatal disease.“The first thing I would tell them is that a diagnosis is not a death sentence anymore,” he said.
